Terms & Conditions

  1. Services Offered: Nixon Speech and Language, owned and operated by Stephanie Nixon, provides consulting services focused on speech, language, and reading disorders, as well as advocacy for special education and child development .
  2. Consultant Qualifications: Stephanie Nixon is an experienced professional in education and health policy, grant review, and research; as well as evaluation and treatment of children with speech, language, and reading disorders. She has additional insight based on her personal experiences with learning disabilities, including ADHD and autism spectrum disorder.
  3. Client Responsibilities:
  1. a) Provide accurate and complete information about the child’s medical history, educational background, and current needs.
  2. b) Attend scheduled appointments or provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations.
  3. c) Actively participate in the consultation process and follow recommended strategies or interventions.
  1. Payment Terms:
  1. a) Fees for services will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the commencement of any work.
  2. b) Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
  3. c) Accepted forms of payment include EBT, Check, Credit Card.
  1. Confidentiality: All client information will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with applicable laws and professional ethics standards. Information will only be shared with explicit written consent from the client or as required by law.
  2. Limitation of Liability: Although Stephanie Nixon strives to provide the best possible advice and support, she cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Nixon Speech and Language shall not be held liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use of our services.
  3. Termination of Services: Either party may terminate the consulting relationship at any time with written notice. Any fees for services rendered up to the termination date will still be due.
  4. Disclaimer: Stephanie Nixon is a consultant.  Unless conducting a formal speech and language evaluation or working with a patient/client, she will not provide a diagnosis.  Instead she will review available information (educational performance, psychological evaluations, speech and language evaluations, etc.) and provide recommendations for education, therapy, and possibly additional evaluations. Clients are advised to seek appropriate professionals for such services.
  5. Intellectual Property: Any materials, strategies, or resources provided during the course of consultation remain the intellectual property of Nixon Speech and Language and may not be reproduced or distributed without explicit permission.
  6. Modifications: These terms and conditions may be modified at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes, and continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
  7. Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Maryland and within the code of ethics of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

By engaging the services of Nixon Speech and Language, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
